Construction

The table's top is made from a single board, which has split. It is attached from the top with nails with wooden covers; new screws have been added. All of the tenons are double-shouldered. The scribe lines for the tenons of the leg and stretcher joints go all the way across the stretchers. The long skirt rails have double pins; the short skirt rails and stretchers have single pins. The batten underneath the top goes through the skirt rails to the edges of the top. The angle in the splay (leg to skirt) is 95 degrees at the side, and 90 degrees at the front. The feet are one-half balls.

Notes

The table retains much of its black paint.
