Construction

The vertical backboards are chamfered and let into grooves in the top and sides and is nailed to the back edge of the chest bottom with rosehead nails. Half-blind dovetails fasten the rear base board to the sides of the base. According to the auctioneer, there are two drawer lip losses and the chest has an old varnish finish.
