Construction

The solid, quarter-round top has a square, inlaid edge and is secured to its frame by five screw pockets, one each in the two straight, solid, rear rails, and three each in the bowed, five-board laminated, veneered front rails. A countersunk screw reinforces the connection between the front rail and the central front leg. There are vertical chamfered glue blocks at each corner of the frame. The tops of the legs are "bookend" inlaid, the legs themselves inlaid with pendant flowers and graduated dots. The square tapering legs have lines and cuffs inlaid on their front and side faces. Examined by Mia Taradash, September 28, 2012; notes compiled by T.B. Lloyd.
