Construction

The circular, two-board top has a slightly rounded edge. It is joined to a block with chamfered, rounded ends and tapering, chamfered sides by eight countersunk screws. Into the middle of the block is set the top of a ring-turned, tapering pedestal. Three rounded-top cabriole legs meet its cylindrical base in joints obscured by a three-armed metal plate with multiple holes. Some holes contain screws or nails, some are empty. The underside of the legs is flat; they end in shod snake feet. Notes compiled by T.B. Lloyd from photographs supplied by The Stanley Weiss Collection.
