Joseph Ott identified a Samuel Goddard as a son of John Goddard, and maker of a card table with his brother Thomas Goddard.(1)

This Samuel Goddard is otherwise unknown at this time. John Goddard is not known to have had a son named Samuel. It is possible that this represents a misidentification of Stephen Goddard. Stephen, along with his brother Thomas, took over their father's cabinetmaking shop following his 1785 death. They worked in partnership until Stephen's 1804 death.
