ConstructionThe two-board, oblong top has a thumb-molded edge and slightly rounded corners. It is secured to its frame by wood pins through the top and by nails through the inside faces of the rails below. The rails end in scalloped brackets; each has a similarly scalloped pendant. They meet the rectangular blocks atop the legs in mortise and tenon joints, each having two wood pins. The turned, tapering legs end in outset shod pad feet with incised ankles. On the underside of the top, slightly outside one of the short rails, is a butterfly joint missing its insert. Examined by P. E. Kane, August, 2007; notes compiled by T. B. Lloyd. |
||
NotesThe table has traces of old green paint. |
