ConstructionThe oblong, single-board top has a rounded edge and half-round outset corners. It is screwed to its scallop-skirted frame by multiple wood pins and by four later, rectangular, chamfered blocks, each one set into one of the rails and nailed with brads to the underside of the top. The rails are tenoned into the rectangular blocks atop the legs, each joint showing two wood pins. The underside of the top bears multiple holes, patches and shadows. The cabriole legs end in pad feet. Notes compiled by T. B. Lloyd from photographs supplied by Skinner, Inc. |
