ConstructionThe oblong, rectangular top, constructed in the "breadboard" manner, consists of two long boards, fixed with two wood pins apiece to the frame below and centering a narrow filler strip, the whole flanked by transverse cleats attached with nails. The straight-skirted frame contains a single plain-fronted drawer, whose front meets the arched-top drawer sides in dovetail joints with a single large tail, with a half-pin above and a half-pin with rabbet below. The rails, including the rail below the drawer front, are tenoned and wood-pinned to the tops of the turned legs. The rectangular stretchers, set flush with the outside faces of the legs, are also tenoned and wood-pinned to the legs. Two of the turned legs, reduced in height, have been fitted with risers. Notes compiled by T.B. Lloyd from photographs supplied by David A. Schorsch, Inc., and Brunk Auctions. |

NotesThe red paint was not original and has since been removed. |
