Construction

The circular, two-piece top is supported by a turned, tapering pedestal, doweled into a large cleat with bowed and chamfered ends and tapering, chamfered sides. The cleat is fixed to the underside of the top with eight fasteners, including countersunk screws. To the sides of the plain, cylindrical pedestal base are fixed, in joints concealed by a three-armed iron plate attached with nails, three flat-sided, rounded-top cabriole legs ending in shod snake feet.
