ConstructionThe single-board top has a rounded edge and outset, half round corners, and is attached to its frame by screws through battens with chamfered ends, which pass through the tops of rails. There are empty nail holes in the battens. Each inside corner of the frame has two vertical quarter round glue blocks, some with nails and screws. The flat-arched rails are tenoned and twice-wood-pinned to the rectangular blocks atop the turned, straight legs which end in outset pad feet. Notes compiled by T. B. Lloyd from photographs supplied by Stanley Weiss. |
