ConstructionThe oblong, three-board top has a square edge and three-quarter-round outset corners, and is secured to its frame by glue and wood pins. Affixed with nails and some screws to the underside of the top, outside the frame, are four horizontal battens. The rails have square-edged, flat-arched skirts and join the legs in mortise and tenon joints, having two wood pins each. The tops of the legs are chamfered within the frame. The turned, tapered legs end in shod pad feet. Examined by P.E. Kane and J.N. Johnson, May 22, 2013; notes compiled by T.B. Lloyd. |
