Construction

The oblong, rectangular, one-piece top has a molded edge and is secured to its frame by screw-pockets ? two in each rail ? and by horizontal glue blocks ? both chamfered and triangular ? one on each rail. Both top and rails bear multiple corresponding glue block shadows. Each rail?s skirt consists of two flat arches centering a shaped pendant section. The rails are tenoned and twice-wood-pinned to the rectangular blocks atop the straight, turned, tapering legs, which end in outset pad feet. Notes compiled by T. B. Lloyd from photographs supplied by Stanley Weiss.
