Construction

The rectangular oblong two-board top has a molded edge and is secured to its frame by wood pins, screw pockets (probably later) inside the rails, and by screws and nails in a transverse batten which passes through the tops of its long rails. The rails? skirts are deeply scalloped and slightly chamfered on their inside edges. The rails are tenoned and double-wood-pinned to the rectangular blocks atop the legs, which are turned and tapered, ending in outset, oversize, shod pad feet.
