NotesThis chair appears to be by the same hand as RIF4535 and RIF4536. RIF4535 is attributed to Providence, Rhode Island, on the basis of its history in that city's Charitable Baptist Society of the First Baptist Church in America. This example was owned by the Clifford family of Yarmouthport, Masssachsuetts, which raises the possibility that the maker of these chairs was working in southeastern Massachusetts. |
