Construction

The oblong, single-board top has bowed ends with a slightly rounded edge, flanked by half-round, single-board leaves. The ends of the inner rails beside the swinging leg of the outer rail meet the skirt in dovetail joints, having half-pins of slightly varying configurations, with half-pins below. The swinging end of the outer rail is tenoned into the rabbeted rectangular top of the leg, with two wood pins. The turned, tapering legs end in outset shod pad feet with incised heels. Examined by P.E. Kane, March 26, 2014; notes compiled by T.B. Lloyd.
